Latium (Lazio) is a region in Central Italy, on the Tyrrhenian side of the peninsula, except for a small strip on the Adriatic side. Lying to the west on the Tyrrhenian Sea, this region borders to the north with Tuscany, with Umbria and for a short stretch with the Marches. To the east Latium borders with Abruzzo and briefly with Molise and with Campania to the south; within its present limits it has not, however, geographical unity.
History. The morphology of Latium is very complex but four main sub-regions can be defined: the Tyrrhenian coast, the inland plains, the mountains of the Latium Pre-Apennines and a true Apennine area. The coast is mainly low and uniform, broken only by the spurs of Linaro point, Mount Circeo (541 m.) and the Gaeta headland: the Ponzian Islands, which are part of Latium, lie opposite the south coast.

Trivigliano - Frosinone nel Lazio
Il Paese è situato su un colle a forma di cono, molto caratteristico e suggestivo, ad un’altitudine di circa 850 metri, di fronte all’altro centro medievale di Torre Caietani. Il panorama che si gode dalla piazzetta della Chiesa parrocchiale spazia su una distesa di colline e pianure, con lo sfondo del lago di Canterno. L’abitato, dislocato intorno alla rocca o castello, in origine doveva essere costituito da un recinto fortificato. Le porte dovevano essere due, una a nord-ovest e l’altra a sud. La struttura architettonica del piccolo e grazioso centro storico (quasi del tutto pedonale) è praticamente rimasta integra, con vicoli strettissimi, archi, portici, bei portali, finestre architravate, scalinate suggestive, piazzette panoramiche. Nel territorio di Trivigliano si trova il lago di Canterno, di formazione carsica, in un ambiente naturale di straordinaria bellezza con boschi di castagno che si estendono fino alla vicina Fumone.
