La Chiesa di San Francesco -The Church of St. Francis in Carpi, Emilia Romagna
In 1681 St Francis church was built as it looks today, however since the 13th century there was already a monastery of Friars Minori with annexed church.
During the 18th century the building was finished except the front that remained incomplete.
The sublime interior consists of one nave with transepts and four smaller lateral chapels.
The paintings were perfomed by Algimiro Lugli in 1876, and of great interest is the cracked fresco by Antonio Alberti,15th C.
