Italy - Information on Puglianello in the Province of Benevento
The town of Puglianello borders on the province of Caserta, in a charming, green environment, surrounded by vineyards and gruit trees. Its documented origins date back to the 9th century. Under the Norman rule it belonged to the Camerario family, then to the Celano, to the Gaetani, to the De Capua, to the Paolella and finally to the Di Carlo families, who owned it until 1806, when feudalism was abolished. After the Unity of Italy it was admitted to the neighbouring town of San Salvatore Telesino. After 1948 it became a self-governing centre.
NOT TO BE MISSED:
1. Old village
2. Medioeval castle
3. Church of San Giacomo
