Italy - Information on Pago Veinao in the Province of Benevento
The modern built-up area of Pago Veiano stretches along the main road connecting Benevento to San Giorgio La Molara.
Small agricultural village, it dates back to the Roman Age, as finds attest that the old settlement of “Pago Veianus” existed in that period.
The first bibliographical data goes back to the beginning of the 13th century. It was Andrea de Capua’s, then Cutillo’s, Brancaccio’s, De Maio’s finally Caracciolo’s, Mansella’s, Pignatelli’s and Girardi’s feud. On the unity of Italy it was annexed to the province of Benevento.
