Italy - Information on Frasso Telesino in the Province of Benevento
Agricultural village, the inhabitants grow in particular olive groves and vineyards. Its origins date back to the Norman period, even though archaeological finds seem to attest that a town-settlement existed already in the Samnite Age.
In 1360 the land was bought by Diego della Ratta and then resold to the Coppola family; it was subsequently sold again to the Dukes Acquaviva.
It was a posession of the Gambacorta family, theon of the Orsini and finally of the Spinelli, who owned it up to the abolition of feudalism.
With the unity of Italy the village was annexed the province of Benevento.
