Calvi in the Province of Benevento, Italy
A few kilometres away from Benevento, the village is plunged into extended olive groves and vineyards. Some remains of a Roman acqueduct bear witness of an ancient built-up area. The old centre has a typical medieoval structure. It was a feud of the Tomacelli, of the Gesualdo, of the Ludovisi, of the Della Marra and finally of the Caracciolo families. After the abolition of feudalism, Calvi was annexed to the Municipality of San Nazzaro; only in 1959 it became a self-governing municipality.
