About Amorosi
Amorosi is a small village situated at the beginning of the Valle Telesina.
Its economy has always been based on trades and handicrafts, as the workshops and shops along its streets demonstrate.
According to scholars, the village developed around the old centre “Castrum Amorosi” at the beginning of the 9th c.
What is certain and well-grounded by reliable sources, is that the village had its full splendour when it became a feud of the Caracciolo family.
From the planning point of view, the village became much more modern in the second half of the 19th century, when the feudal village was mostly demolished and a beautiful, wide square was created.
Moreover, two artistic, stone bridges were built in the same period: the one over the river Calore and the other over the river Volturno, which are important links between Amorosi and the bordering towns in the outskirts of Caserta.
